Actual Patients Treated by Bessonet Bessonet
The vast majority of people are at least mildly uncomfortable going to the dentist.
It’s likely you know someone with a chronic (potentially debilitating) fear of the dentist. There are dental sedation solutions to ease dental anxiety.
Wake Up Smiling...
You often aren’t aware of the procedure, and sometimes you’ll have no memory of it afterward.
Time Travel...
Being sedated or asleep during the appointment can make the procedure seem faster. You’ll wake up and the time will feel like it went by in an instant.
Better for Your Overall Health...
You can finally get the care you need that you have been putting off — possibly for years! Normally this might have been terrifying, but with the help of dental sedation you can take care of your oral health without the stress.
Save Time...
You can have two-to-three times the amount of work done in one day, minimizing the need for multiple future appointments!
You Can Get IV Sedation for Tooth Extractions!
“Believe it or not – We think we've mastered making dental visits relaxing. You'll look forward to your appointment!”
Dr. Calvin Bessonet
Owner & Dentist
My name is Dr. Calvin Bessonet, and I’d like to personally invite you to explore what makes our practice unique and special:
I graduated from Ascension Catholic High School in 1994, received my bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1998, and earned my dental degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2003.
I complete more than 100 hours of continuing education courses each year. I have participated in an intensive, 400-hour implant and bone regeneration program with the esteemed Dr. Hilt Tatum, one of the pioneers in the field of implant dentistry and inventor of many of the advanced surgical techniques used today. Additionally, my advanced training in cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry, as well as Invisalign® and traditional braces, allows me to work with you on a wide variety of dental concerns, forming a partnership in achieving your optimum oral health.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. I have also achieved Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) by completing 500 hours of continuing education and passing an extensive comprehensive exam.
At Ascension Premier Dental, our patients’ comfort during their time with us is of great importance. Because of this, we offer items to make your time here easier and more pleasant! We offer: blankets, private operating rooms, and TVs with headphones.
Ascension Premier Dental is also one of the few dental offices in the area that offers IV sedation. This gives us the ability to fully manage your comfort level during your time with us. This goes hand in hand with our ability to perform all of our services in-house as well. We are the only provider around that can perform microscopic dentistry. With the investment that we have made in industry-leading technology, Ascension Premier Dental is now able to treat you in a more precise manner thanks to the microscopes equipped in our office.
Mild Sedation
(Nitrous Oxide)
It’s informally called “laughing gas” because it has a euphoric effect (making some people get the giggles).
Moderate Sedation
(Oral Sedative)
You’ll be able to take an oral sedative prior to your procedure (you’ll need a ride home of course).
Moderate Sedation
(Conscious IV Sedation)
Patients often don’t even remember their appointment or seeing/feeling anything that would trigger their anxiety.
Deep Sedation
(IV Sedation)*
You’ll be completely “knocked out,” we will monitor your safety and perform your treatment while you are unconscious.
*Note: Deep Sedation (IV) is administered by a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist).
